Tesla Wall Charger

Editorial policy

How the guides are researched, how figures are checked, and what happens when something is wrong.

Sources first

Each guide is built from primary sources where they exist: Tesla's installation and owner's manuals, NHTSA records, EPA ratings, the National Electrical Code as published by NFPA, and EIA price data. Where a figure varies (installation prices, electricity rates, Tesla Shop prices), the page says when it was checked.

What we will not do

  • Publish a number we could not trace to a source.
  • Invent owner stories, test results or quotes.
  • Tell readers to do electrical work that needs a licensed electrician. Installing, moving or removing a hardwired 240 V charger is a job for a licensed electrician and often needs a permit.

Live data

Recall lists on the Tesla model-year pages refresh from the NHTSA API on a schedule. A recall only applies to a specific car if its VIN is listed, so the pages link to NHTSA's VIN lookup.

Updates and corrections

Pages carry the date they were last updated. When a reader reports an error and it is confirmed, the page is corrected and the date changes. Send corrections through the contact page.
