What you will find here
The site started as a set of guides to the Tesla Wall Connector: what it costs to install, how to set it up, and what to do when a light turns red. It now also covers each Tesla model year, from the 2012 Model S to the current Model 3, Model Y and Cybertruck, with recall lists, crash ratings and range figures pulled from public records.
Where the numbers come from
- Charger specifications, breaker tables, light codes and setup steps come from Tesla's own installation manuals, owner's manuals and support pages.
- Recalls, owner complaints and crash ratings come from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Recall lists on the model-year pages refresh automatically from the NHTSA API.
- Range and efficiency figures are EPA ratings where the EPA has published one. Where it has not (the 2024 Cybertruck, for example), the page says the figure is Tesla's own estimate.
- Electricity prices come from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).
- Installation cost ranges come from Tesla's installer page and published contractor price surveys, and each guide names its source.
Every guide lists the sources it relied on at the bottom of the page.
